Pain and Healing: What to Expect

Lobe Piercings

Expect a brief pinch during the piercing (preferably done with a needle rather than a gun), followed by a few days of tenderness. Standard lobe piercings typically heal within 6-8 weeks. Avoid changing earrings during this period, keep the area clean, and avoid swimming initially. To prevent closure, continue wearing earrings for at least a year.

Cartilage Piercings

Though slightly more painful than lobe piercings, the discomfort is brief. Healing times range from 4-12 months, making this a longer commitment.
